Blogger Profile
Hi my name is Keeley Williams and thank you for checking out my blog! I deeply believe in young people’s potential and started this blog because there is not enough platforms promoting positive young people in society.
A bit about me… I live in the UK, I am currently a Youth Project Manager at a children and young people’s charity and a Trustee at a London youth based charity.
Previously, I was an active member of my local Youth Parliament for 6 years and eventually became a member of staff to engage young people to express their voices and be heard. As a young person I progressed from my local Youth Parliament, to the UK Youth Parliament, and took part in a youth exchange to South Africa. I was also a youth representative at the United Nation’s Summit of Sustainable Development and became a UK Youth Delegate to the 60th United Nation’s General Assembly. I have engaged and recruited young people to take part in social action projects, run a youth forum, and I have supported young people’s development ensuring that they achieve recorded outcomes and enrol on achievement schemes. I was a member of the Two Kingdoms Youth Project which was a collaboration between the British Youth Council (BYC) and Minorities of Europe alongside the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Ministry for Inter-cultural Dialogue in Saudi Arabia. In response to the project I supported an organisation called Mouth That Roars to work with eight young people aged between 13 and 21 years from UK and Saudi Arabia to make short films about their everyday lives. Last year, I coordinated an inter-cultural dialogue project between young people in Hackney, London and Cape Town, South Africa. I was also a member of a BYC steering group, facilitating online cultural diaglogues between young people in the UK and the Middle East/North Africa.
